Young Riders Academy flies to Sweden

Uppsala and Strömsholm will host the second educational session of the Program at University of Agricultural Science and at Swedish National Equestrian Centre

Uppsala, September 2016 – The Young Riders Academy team will be this week in Uppsala to open the 2016 second educational seminar. The program is going to be really intense and challenging for the riders. It will begin tomorrow at University of Agricultural Science with professor Peter Kallings lecturing on doping, medication and prohibited substances. Anatomy, physiology of horses and lameness will follow.

The week is going then to continue in Strömsholm, Swedish National Equestrian Centre with the support of Jens Fredricsson and Sven Holmberg. Young horses: training, finance and management will be key topics for our riders in the upcoming days. Lecture on fitness, balance on the horse as well as horse balance and practical demonstrations will close this intense week.

The young Riders Academy is a program conceived for European talented young show jumpers, under the patronage of the European Equestrian Federation (EEF), with the cooperation of the International Jumping Riders Club (IJRC) and the support of Rolex.

Founded in 2014 by Athenaeum, a non-profit association, the program will give talented riders between the ages of 18 and 23 the chance to get six months of training and boarding at a well-known professional stable. On top of that, professional education in communication, business and economics, veterinary and legal practice related to show jumping. The objective is to develop future champions as well as potential managers of this sport.
