Nations Cup lands in Ocala

The Furusiyya circuit starts this week in Florida for the first rendez-vous of the 2015 edition. The teams of Canada, Columbia, Ireland, Mexico, USA and Venezuela will be competing on Friday

Ocala, February 2015 – Here we go again, with the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup 2015 beginning this week in Florida. On Friday the teams of Canada, Columbia, Ireland, Mexico, United States and Venezuela will be competing in the CSIO4* in Ocala, for the North and Central America and Caribbean Division.

As in the previous edition, the Nations Cup is divided in six geographical areas: Europe (First and Second Division equal to the ex Top and Promotional Leagues), North America, South America, Africa, Asia and Middle East. The current circuit counts in calendar 20 horseshows, 45 Nations and a final, scheduled in Barcelona from the 24th to the 29th September.

As far as the North and Central America and Caribbean Division is concerned, four are the countries interested in the point system: USA, Canada, Mexico and El Salvador.

After Florida, the Division will fly to Coapexpan (CSIO4*), Mexico, from the 23rd to the 26th April, and to Calgary (CSIO5*), Canada, from 11th to the 14th June, while, in a chronological order, the Nations Cup will stop in the United Arab Emirates, single leg valid for the Middle East Division, with the CSIO5* of Abu Dhabi, from the 18th to the 21st February.

Asia, Africa and South America don’t have their own shows, for this reason their teams will take part to the other division’s already existing CSIOs.

Waiting time in Europe, where it is still early for the outdoor season but at the same time everybody is preparing for the European Championship 2015, which will be held in Aachen, Germany, from the 11th to the 23rd August. The Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup will then have a very special meaning to the continental teams.

First Division is ready to start in the CSIO5* of Lummen, Belgium, from the 29th April to the 3rd May, Second Division will jump for the first time in the CSIO4* of Linz, Austria, from the 7th to the 10th May.

Belgium, Spain, France, Great Britain, Germany, Ireland, Netherland, Switzerland, Sweden and Italy are the nations qualified for the First Division 2015, many more are those of the Second Division: Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine.
