Bologna, April 23, 2021 – On 29 April, the best horse and rider combinations on the planet will perform once again in the Haras des Grillons’ huge ring, for the launch of the third season of the HUBSIDE JUMPING Grimaud-Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

The champions of world show jumping will come face to face until mid-October, for twelve weeks, health situation permitting, on a site and at a show that they know like the back of their hands and which they particularly like. The first rounds will take place in a few days at the first event of the HUBSIDE SPRING TOUR. Competitions will take place behind closed doors.

After a trying winter season, which gave rise to the cancellation of many indoor shows and the outbreak of an epizootic disease which forced Europe to put its horses into ‘lockdown’, the HUBSIDE SPRING TOUR and its two weeks of competition will sound the return of better days for international show jumping.

The statement

«Over this last year, since the start of this health and economic crisis that has proved a huge handicap for high-level sport, the pride of playing host to the best riders in Grimaud has been enhanced by a particular mission: supporting a sector that has suffered greatly over the past few months, whatever the cost. In 2020, despite the numerous restrictions, the HUBSIDE JUMPING successfully organised eleven weeks of competition, including four shows which were awarded a ‘five-star’ label, synonymous with excellence in our sport. In 2021, once again, the HUBSIDE JUMPING has made a promise to be there for athletes, their owners and enthusiasts», explains Sadri Fegaier, the president and Founder of the HUBSIDE JUMPING.

And what a promise it is! Judge for yourself: from 29 April to 17 October 2021, twelve dates have been registered on the calendar of the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), of which six will give rise to CSI 5* shows, the highest level of competition in the world. Please note: in August the organiser of the HUBSIDE JUMPING Grimaud-Gulf of Saint-Tropez will also play host to two weeks of CSI 5* shows on the Haras des Grillons de Valence’s site in Drôme.

The first CSI 5* outdoor show of the season in Europe!

In this Olympic and European Championship year, the greatest riders will undoubtedly seize all the opportunities on offer to prepare for these major events in the best way possible. This preparation will start at the HUBSIDE JUMPING Grimaud-Gulf of Saint Tropez which will play host to the first CSI 5* outdoor show of the year in Europe. All the riders who are able to be selected should respond positively to Sadri Fegaier’s invitation.

In 2020, the HUBSIDE JUMPING Grimaud-Gulf of Saint-Tropez played host to all the current international gold medallists who are based in Europe, without exception: Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat, the winner of the Longines FEI World Cup Final, Martin Fuchs, the European individual gold medallist and the current Belgian team gold medallists, the World individual gold medallist, Germany’s Simone Blum (the American World team gold medallists were not able to cross the Atlantic due to the obvious health restrictions), the Olympic individual gold medallist (Great Britain’s Nick Skelton was on foot, but was nevertheless present at the edge of the ring) and three cheers for the French Musketeers, Penelope Leprévost, Kevin Staut, Roger-Yves Bost and Philippe Rozier, the team gold medallists at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
