Walla Walla Whiz earns another million

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 16 august 2018 – Late summer is a busy time for reiners preparing for the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Affiliate Regional Championships and the NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show. With the vast amount of shows taking place, it’s an exciting time for not only exhibitors but also owners eagerly awaiting results to watch their horses’ earnings rise. It’s also a time where many of reining’s most prestigious horses cross significant NRHA milestones. This year, Walla Walla Whiz was one of the notable sires achieving this success – crossing the two million dollar sire mark.
 
By NRHA Twelve Million Dollar Sire Topsail Whiz and out of Shiney Walla Wanda, Walla Walla Whiz was bred by Terry and Jo Wiens and purchased by Arcese Quarter Horses USA in 2006. The 15-year-old stallion currently stands at Oswood Stallion Station in Weatherford, Texas.
 
Walla Walla Whiz began his reining career in July 2006 at the DRHA Dorminy Plantation Futurity where he earned a check of $2,613 with rider Shawn Flarida aboard. The chestnut stallion went on to earn nearly of $190,000 in NRHA Lifetime Earnings (LTE), all with NRHA Six Million Dollar Rider Flarida at the reins. The stallion’s top finishes include:

• 2006 Tulsa Reining Classic Level (L)4 Open Futurity Champion
• 2006 All American Quarter Horse Congress L4 Open Futurity Finalist
• 2006 NRHA L4 Open Futurity Finalist
• 2007 National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC) L4 Open Derby – 3rd Place
• 2007 NRHA L4 Open Derby Champion
• 2008 NRBC L4 Open Derby Finalist

 
After retiring from his successful show career in 2008, the magnificent stallion produced his first foal crop in 2009. His most successful offspring to date is the 2012 mare Shesouttayourleague, the 2015 NRHA L4 Futurity Champion and 2017 NRHA L4 Derby Champion. In total, Walla Walla Whiz has six offspring with more than $50,000 in NRHA LTE and a number of babies competing in competition this year – helping him cross his second NRHA million dollar milestone.
