Sport doesn’t forget its best friends

The Snai San Siro Racecourse Jumping Arena that will host the FEI Jumping European Championship Milan 2023, has been named after Marco Fusté

Bologna, July 30, 2023 – Snaitech has made a deeply felt decision to name the grass jumping arena at the Snai San Siro Racecourse in memory of Marco Fusté, Director of Jumping at the International Equestrian Federation, who passed away earlier this year.

This decision was announced by Fabio Schiavolin, CEO of Snaitech and President of the Organising Committee of the FEI Jumping European Championship Milan 2023, during the press conference for the official presentation of the event in Palazzo Marino, Milan.

«Marco Fusté – said Schiavolin – was a friend from Milan. Although we did not know each other, he promptly and empathically adopted us two years ago, sharing the idea of bringing a top-level jumping event to San Siro. He put his faith in our project with great passion and, looking beyond the many things to be put in place, he accompanied us along the path of the Milan Jumping Cup, starting from the three-star international show in 2021, to the four-star show in 2022, up to a five-star event, thus closing a virtual geographical triangle with the other five-star competitions in Rome and Verona. We want to remember him, and I believe that the best way to do it is to name the Snai San Siro Racecourse jumping arena after him. From now on it will be called the Marco Fusté Arena».

Marco Fusté (1962-2023) was from Spain and had been appointed director of the FEI Jumping sector in February 2021. Previously, he had held the same position for fifteen years in the Spanish Equestrian Federation and he had also been chef d’equipe of the Spanish teams. A man of vast expertise and charisma, highly respected in the jumping sector throughout the world; he has left a void in the hearts of all those who knew and appreciated him not only from a sporting point of view.
