Driving to the top of the world

Top sport is back to Pratoni del Vivaro (Ita) with the FEI Driving World Championship. 37 athletes from 16 nations will compete, and with 5 horses per athlete the total number of horses in competition is 185

Bologna, September 22, 2022 – After a full weekend dedicated to the three-day-eventing World Championship, Pratoni del Vivaro is ready to host the FEI Driving World Championship that will take centre stage from 22 to 25 September.

Vet-check went pretty smoothly apart from one horse that will be re-inspected tomorrow. A total of 37 athletes representing 16 nations will perform their dressage test, divided in between Thursday and Friday. The first session in each day is scheduled to start at 10 am while the afternoon session will start at 2,30 pm.

The spectacular marathon will take place on Saturday at 10 am.

On Sunday, there will be the final competition between the cones from 10 a.m. while at 2 p.m., the grass arena ‘Posillipo’ will host the second and final event reserved for the Top 20 who will compete for the final victory.

Six nations are competing for the team podium: Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, The Netherlands and Hungary.
There are also individual competitors from Austria, Poland, Italy, Czech Republic, Romania, Spain, United States, Sweden, Switzerland and Uruguay.
