Shiny Hanoverian Champions

The horse show „Verden International“ is the perfect setting for Hanover’s best futurity prospects to determine their riding horse, dressage horse and show jumper champions.

Verden, 8 august 2018 –  The horse show „Verden International“ is the perfect setting for Hanover’s best futurity prospects to determine their riding horse, dressage horse and show jumper champions. The stars of tomorrow regularly celebrate their first successes on the premises of the Hannoveraner Verband.

Diamond Lady by Dimaggio/Benetton Dream (breeder: Axel Windeler, Verden-Walle), perfectly presented by David Taylor, was nominated Hanoverian Champion of four-year-old mares and geldings. Only one tenth behind finished Dschamilja by Dancier/Lauries Crusador xx (breeder: Rudolf Hagen, Großefehn) and Sascha Böhnke who were rewarded with the silver medal. Third place went to two horses: the Fürstenball/Rotspon-son Fürst Flulidu (breeder: Iris-Maria Berger, Stuttgart), thanks to his rider Sophie Duprée’s masterly performance and Little Hollywood by Livaldon/Wertschatz (b.: Dr. Joachim Adams, Lingen) with rider Saskia Sophia Kunz.

The four-year-old stallions were of stunning quality. The Celle state stud stallion Labbadio by Lissaro/Dancier (breeder: Jan Heimsoth, Wahnebergen) convincingly won the competition. The eagerly moving brown stallion, born less than five kilometres away from the Rider’s Stadium, was presented by Mike Habermann. Premium stallion Quattroporte by Quantensprung/Stedinger (breeder: Burkhard Wahler, Medingen) and Jose Pedro Baptista came in second. Two stallions came third: Vidar by Viscount/Edward (breeder: Wolfgang Meyer, Spenge) and Catja Thomsen and Falihandro by Fürstenball/Dancier (breeder.: Madonna Hedberg, Queensland/Australia) with rider Janine Drissen.

Feingefühl by Fürstenball/Farewell III (breeder: Gaby Heye-Hammerlage, Belm) and Sandra Kötter dominated the division of three-year-old mares and geldings. The Hanoverian premium candidate loves the Verden. She was already nominated Reserve Champion at the Herwart von der Decken-Show last Tuesday. Sarafina by San Amour/Christ (breeder: Walter P. J. Droege, Düsseldorf), presented by Claudia Rüscher, followed at a distance. Third finished Vlow by Vivaldi/For Compliment (breeder: Johannes zur Lage, Bersenbrück) and Anja Mohrahrend zur Lage.

The Don Nobless/Sandro Hit-son Despacito (breeder: Josef and Karl-Heinz Rudde, Ahaus) won the division of three-year-old stallions with outstanding scores for basic gaits and training level. The shiny black youngster was presented by Greta Heemsoth. Fun4ever by Feedback/De Vito (breeder: Gerd Pigge, Lastrup) became Vice Champion. Felix Hilmer rode the half brother of the internationally successful stallion Foundation in Verden. Third place went to two stallions: Dancier Gold by Dancier/Weltmeyer (breeder: Georg Strübing, Vienenburg) with Anna-Sophie Fiebelkorn and Jenson Button by Jazz/His Highness (breeder: ZG Nordhausen and Rayber, Suhlendorf) with Judith Flach.

The young Hanoverian jumpers showed great promise with the four-year-olds already shining at the Show Jumping Championships. Glücklich by Grey Top/Stolzenberg (breeder: Peter Wisch, Otterndorf) was the happy winner. The grey mare had already impressed at mare shows with her quality, for example last year at the Herwart von der Decken-Show in the show jumping and family competition. Now, twelfe months later, she displayed all her qualities with Sven Rudolph and finally won the title. Two horses finished second, equal on points: Mangoon by Messenger/Contagio (breeder: Carsten Müller-Rulfs, Ritterhude), competing with breeder’s daughter Julia Müller-Rulfs, and Davie Jones by Diacontinus/Santini (breeder: Zuchtgemeinschaft Pudenz and Frühling, Großefehn) with Anja-Sabrina Heinsohn. The grey horse was sold at the Verden March Auction only five months ago from where he changed to the show stable of Rainer Schmerglatt.

The champion of five-year-olds was crowned after the jump-off. Paganini by Perigueux/Lordanos (breeder: Eitel Wehrs, Steinwedel) and Tobias Meyer accomplished two convincing rounds. Silver went to Sir Chita by Stanley/Contender (breeder: Dr. Christoph Rowold, Haselünne), ridden by Anne-Estelle Janßen. Third finished Stakki by Stakkato Gold/Acord II (breeder: Peter Wernke, Holdorf) with Paweena Hoppe.

There was a lot of excitement in the division of six-year-olds. Time was the decisive factor in the jump-off. Karl Brocks and San Classica by Sandro Boy/Classiker (breeder: breeders’ alliance Vincke and Ahlers, Weyhe-Dreye) made short work and won the title with two seconds advantage in a fast and cheeky style. The duo had already won the vice championship-title last year. Silver went to Policeman by Perigueux/Acord II (breeder: Heinz Sprenger, Fritzlar) and Eva Bitter. The successful show jumping rider had won the Verden Grand Prix three years ago with his sire Perigueux. Third became the already well-known Gunfire PJ by Grey Top/Contender (breeder: Pferdezucht Dr. Jacobs GbR, Bierbergen) and Patricio Muente who had won the title in the division of five-year-olds last year.

The last Hanoverian champions at „Verden International“ were determined in the dressage arena. Farewell’s Fritz by Farewell III/Sir Donnerhall (breeder: Manfred Wahmhofft, Wallenhorst) and Carola Koppelmann took a victory lap in the division of five-year-olds. The Vice Championship-title went to Bounty by Benicio/Calypso II (breeder: Hannes Brüning, Ochtmannien) who earned highest scores with the Swedish rider Antonia Öhrstam. The bay horse has developed into a fantastic athlete. The Vice Champion of four-year-old riding horses last year had finished fourth at the 2017 Bundeschampionat. Janine Drissen and privately owned stallion Bob Marley by Bon Bravour/De Niro (breeder: Frank Lage, Dannau) won the bronze medal.

Best Friends by Bordeaux/Don Primero (breeder: Eva and Dr. Ulf Möller, Hagen) won the Final of six-year-olds with Lena Stegemann. The Diamond Hit/Royal Diamond-son Deduschka Moros (breeder: Wiesbadener Jugendwerkstatt GmbH, Wiesbaden) and Lena Waldmann earned the second highest score. Spotlight by Sir Donnerhall/Wolkentanz (breeder: Carsten Müller, Neustadt), highest-priced horse of the 2017 Verden March Auction, completed the top three with Tessa Rank.
